For most parents, having to discipline their child feels like a daunting task. Yet, this is one of parenting’s inevitable challenges. It is valuable to note that there are many helpful suggestions to follow and principles to understand when it comes to disciplining your child, as well as many pitfalls to avoid in all communication with your child. Very often, in moments of stress, it’s a parent’s own feelings of anger or frustration comes through toward their child as opposed to healthy guidance and direction. By getting to know ourselves and by better understanding how we were related to as kids and how that affects us today, we can face parenting’s greatest challenge, and relate to our kids in a manner that we and our children respect.
