988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline Now Active Across the United States!

Shye Louis, M.Ed., currently serves as the Interim Sr. Director of the Standards, Training and Practices Division at the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline where she oversees the Lifeline’s clinical best practices, training, clinical technologies and research & evaluation teams.

She has worked for in the field of suicide/crisis intervention and information & referral since 1989, serving in capacities ranging from volunteer crisis counselor through contact center director.  She has served in leadership roles for crisis centers ranging from small, single-county rural settings, to multi-county urban programs, to national crisis programs.  Shye is experienced in service delivery, training, and management of crisis services in many different service modalities including phone, face-to-face, online chat and text.

Laura Evans works to support innovative community programs including the state-of-the-art National Suicide Prevention Lifeline which is administered by Vibrant Emotional Health. Formerly the Mental Health Association of New York City, Vibrant Emotional Health has delivered groundbreaking community wellness programs for over 50 years. In this role, she oversees a portfolio that includes many facets of healthcare policy, including suicide prevention, appropriations, and telecommunications. Prior to her current role, Laura served as the State Government Affairs Manager for the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. With over 10 years of experience in health policy, Laura is proud to have begun her career in the Ohio General Assembly as a legislative aide.
